Friends! I spent an exorbitant amount of time typing out a whole other email titled “Don’t throw the Jesus baby out with the Christian bath water”, and then decided to jettison it. For now. So that’s what has been on my mind in these times. You? 😂
Instead, as I daily try to ground myself into the good things I see while also witnessing (without needing to fix/manage/control) the chaos that exists, I have decided to share the things I have created since I last wrote. Why? Because I can. And honestly I think that a little creativity is what we all need right now.
After the election, I know that many healers felt like “ahhhh, now is our time!”. And definitely, healing is important on so many levels and we need all the healers we can get. But Pete had a conversation with a very astute and dialed in colleague, and her response stuck with me. She basically said no, it is time for the creatives. I couldn’t agree more. I am here for new ways of thinking, creating new systems, and letting the old ones become nothing more than lessons… chapters in history books reminding us of what we overcame.
So in the meantime I have been letting go of how my career SHOULD look and instead embracing the creative inspirations as they find me. I have been very pleasantly surprised and moved by the opportunities that have shown up! For example, I built out two websites for two VASTLY different organizations. I never would have considered myself a website builder before, but these two opportunities have allowed me to be of service AND be creative in ways that I did not expect. And I had so much FUN! One of them is private, a back-end website for a VERY large commercial air conditioning company who is building out a 50,000 square foot facility and needed easy access to the latest architectural drawings for all of their sub-contractors. The other is for the Trent DiGiuro Foundation, a non-profit scholarship fund that my friends and I created back in 1995 after we lost our friend Trent. You can check that one out here. And if you need a website build or refresh, you know where to find me.
I also figured out how to format a smaller, pocket-sized version of my book SHINE, and will get the proof of that in the mail today! Stay tuned… I’ll be sharing my own SHINE stories and will have a bunch of new, small aliens available in the next month or so. And, if you have a book inside of you that is just itching to be born, this is your sign that it’s time! There are lots of ways that I can help you turn your dream into a reality, just reach out.💜
And lastly, I have been painting. I really felt pulled to go back to faces, and did some small studies of Freda Khalo and Georgia O’Keefe pictured here👇🏻
As well of a few pet portraits here👇🏻
All of the pet portraits have homes, including Smokey, the mascot for the University of Tennessee. Freda and Georgia are available, just reach out if you’d like either queen.
To all of you creatives… and to anyone who is wanting to be creative… you don’t need to know why you feel called to make things. The calling is enough. Birthing life into this world with joy IS the “why”, and it is needed now.
Stay tuned for alien landings in the future, as well as info on how to get the cutest little copy of SHINE you ever did see.🤩
With love,
Peyton
Love Smokey! Nicely done!
And wowzers…Frida has been everywhere for me since February. I know what her message is for me. But we might have to talk about this drawing.
